Itinerary

Day 1
We meet at Undersåker train station after the night train arrives, around 10:00. From there we transfer to the start of our trek in Skäckerfjällen. Here we repack into sleds and set off after lunch. The first day we cover a shorter distance to allow time to set up camp calmly and go through tents and stoves together.

Day 2–3
Life on the trail. We wake up and melt snow for breakfast. Each tent group of two has its own stove and time for coffee before preparing lunch, breaking camp, and skiing off.
During the day we practice essential winter skills: navigation with map and compass, how to find shelter in rough weather, and how to travel safely. Lunch is eaten along the way. By afternoon we set camp before dark, melt snow for dinner, enjoy the company, and look for northern lights if the sky is clear. We end the day snuggled into warm sleeping bags.

Day 4
Final day in the mountains. We cover the last stretch before being picked up by snowmobile. The day ends at Kolåsen Mountain Hotel with dinner and a well-deserved sauna.

Day 5
Breakfast at Kolåsen before returning to Undersåker/Åre, arriving no later than 13:00.

Getting there

The easiest and most sustainable way is by train to Undersåker station (in Åre), bookable via SJ or VY.
